A young man joined the Army
to serve his cherished USA
to the best of his ability,
and none more so
than in harm's way,
as a proud and loyal Ranger...
going well above and beyond
the call of duty,
disregarding self
even after receiving multiple wounds
and losing a fighting hand...
Leroy Petry stood his ground,
taking the battle to the enemy
to save his brother Rangers
from taking the ultimate fall...
rightfully earning
the Medal of Honor
for his valiant efforts
and being among
America's greatest heroes!
